"Before training with The Distracted Dog, my four year old Frenchie, Hambone, was making things very tense in my home. It got to the point where I would get anxiety just being at home because I never knew what would set him off and cause him to go after my boyfriend. He was very protective of me, often times not even letting my boyfriend hug me or get near me. He would also attack my boyfriend’s hands when he would do certain activities, like working on the computer or playing Xbox. We knew what Hambone was doing was wrong, but had no proper tools to get him to change his behavior.

In just six sessions with The Distracted Dog, Patrick was able to give us all the tools we needed not only to stop Hambone’s bad behavior, but to prevent it before it even starts. Hambone is much better behaved and, when he does act up, we are able to stop the behavior before he gets out of hand. Hambone listens to the Place command, knows to come when called, and is much better about walking beside us on walks instead of running in front of us.

Another invaluable part of training at The Distracted Dog was allowing Hambone to be around other dogs in a controlled environment. We had never had Hambone around other dogs, and Patrick brought in one of his own dogs to see how he did. Hambone did amazing, and has now had multiple experiences around people and other dogs including going to an event put on by The Distracted Dog.
